The Beekeeping and Fruit-Growing Learning Center Na Fari is located in a quiet and idyllic spot next to the parish church of the Virgin Mary on the lake in Prevalje. Visitors can explore a typical Slovenian apiary featuring a classroom, stacked and AŽ beehives, hive fronts with children’s motifs, and an insect hotel. Adjacent to the apiary is a hayrack that can accommodate around twenty visitors.
Next to the apiary is an orchard with old fruit tree varieties planted for education, production, care, planting, and pruning. The learning center also boasts a flower and herb garden with twenty-two beds containing over fifty different types of flowers, herbs, and spices. Emphasis is placed on the melliferous qualities of the plants, and each one is labeled with a sign displaying botanical information, including its Slovenian and Latin names, family, flowering period, flower color, and degree of melliferousness. The garden hosts many plants that provide bees with pollen and nectar throughout the grazing season.
The Beekeeping and Fruit-Growing Learning Center Na Fari is frequently visited by children from local kindergartens and schools. Additionally, the center is available to organized groups by arrangement.
The orchard and apiary, along with the surrounding area, are jointly maintained by the fruit-growing and beekeeping societies, as well as a herbalist.
