Dolina Nektár is a family business that started about 5 years ago. Zoltán Burka traded his IT career for farming and the love of nature, first growing organic vegetables, then turning his attention to keeping bees. His vegetable garden has by now developed into a diversified family smallholding, with honey production as its core business. They also perform a number of other activities related to beekeeping.

In 5 years, their stock has grown to 160-170 hives. In addition to honey, they also sell various products containing propolis and honey.

In 2023, Dolina Nektár launched their Experience Programme. Groups/families are invited to participate in beekeeping events, where they can learn about the daily work in apiaries. Participants are shown how a hive looks from the inside, introduced to seasonal beekeeping works, can attend honey tasting events and visual tours etc. The programme is very popular, as participants can discover for themselves the work that goes into producing a jar of honey and see both the beauty and the difficulties of beekeeping, all this through a very consciously structured experience

Zoltán Burka, owner of Dolina Nektár, is also committed to educating the younger generations. He gives presentations in summer camps and for school groups, organises honey tasting events and in the meantime always tries to bring children as close as possible to nature.  He believes it is very important to provide children with age-appropriate information, thus raising their awareness so that they can grow into responsible adults who will actively participate in protecting their environment.
