Their service idea emerged from a friendly chat between a mechanical engineer and a beekeeper.  This conversation led to the development of a brand-new product, which in turn led to the establishment of a company offering cutting-edge IoT technology.

Their newly developed product is a remote hive scale which provides real-time data that can be accessed from anywhere. These data are stored in the cloud, so that they can be retrieved anytime, anywhere.

The company was founded in 2020 and currently only manufactures and sells its products in Hungary, but they are planning to penetrate international markets soon.  Their remote hive scale represents a technological breakthrough for their customers.

Measured data are sent by wi-fi periodically, at set intervals (e.g. every hour) to the cloud (i.e. a central server) where they are stored. After logging in, users may use any kind of device with an internet connection (PC, tablet, phone) or directly use the Android app to retrieve the data. The remote hive scale works with a specific SIM card and uses GSM for communication.

Forecasting the amount of honey their bees will produce is of paramount importance for beekeepers. The ultimate goal is of course the extraction of honey, but they also need to know how much honey is actually in the hive, as the bees themselves feed on it, too.

Using the remote hive scale, beekeepers can estimate how much honey can be harvested in a given season and previous data will help decide what needs to be changed in order to achieve better results the following year.

A complex application will also be developed soon (it is currently being tested by beekeepers), which will not only display measured data, but also inform users about the weather and send task notifications, while featuring a floral calendar and a digital beekeeper log, too. It will also facilitate the process of raising queens and send an alert if some infectious bee disease has been diagnosed by the National Food Chain Safety Office (NÉBIH).

This complex service will be available to all beekeepers using the latest IT developments.
